Mr Marc Lucky

Consultant Urologist and Andrological surgeon

Aintree University Hospital

Liverpool, UK

Mr Lucky is a fellowship trained Urologist and Andrological surgeon with particular experience in andrology, male infertility, erectile dysfunction and genital reconstruction. He is one of very few surgeons specialising in andrological surgery in the North West region with specific training in all elements of penile and genital surgery. A graduate of the University of Liverpool and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Mr Lucky brings with him to the Sefton Suite a number of years of experience in the field. Having completed urological training in the North West, Mr Lucky underwent a fellowship in andrology, genital oncology, genital reconstructive surgery and male infertility at University College Hospital, London. 

 Since completion of his fellowship, Mr Lucky has contributed to multiple publications in the field of urology and andrology and has presented on the same subjects internationally. He continues to give back to his chosen field by teaching at the Royal College of Surgeons of England Urology courses and is seen by his peers as a leading surgeon in his field.  One of Mr Lucky’s main drivers is through education and has qualified from the University of Dundee in medical education.  

A member of the British Association of Urology Andrology Executive committee and British Society of Sexual Medicine committee, Mr Lucky’s area of expertise include management of: male factor infertility (specifically microTESE operation), Peyronie's disease, erectile dysfunction, penis implant procedures, complex circumcision, sexual dysfunction, hypogonadism, UROLIFT surgery. He also specialises in functional urological conditions and urological cancers. He has published numerous consensus statements in leading urological literature and is the lead author of BAUS consensus statement on  management of testicular trauma in the UK.

Dr Jonny Coxon

Dr Coxon qualified in 1997, at Oxford University. He has been a GP partner in Brighton since 2009. He also works one day a week as a Clinical Assistant in Urology, for Brighton and Sussex Universities NHS Trust, and one day as a Speciality Doctor in the Gender Identity Clinic in London. In addition, he runs a Gender and Sexual Medicine clinic at the Nuffield Health Hospital in Brighton.

Before switching to general practice, he pursued a Urology career path, mainly as a Research Fellow at St George’s Hospital. Alongside clinical work, his prostate cancer research was published in the British Journal of Urology amongst other publications and led to an MD thesis. He also worked in a team carrying out several trials on medications for erectile dysfunction.

He has also completed an extensive training programme under the European School of Sexual Medicine and acquired his Fellowship of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (FECSM) qualification. He is President of the British Society for Sexual Medicine Association and Secretary of the Primary Care Urological Society. He sits on the committee of the Primary Care Testosterone Advisory Group, and on the editorial board for the journal Trends in Urology & Men’s Health.

Dr Coxon has spoken regularly for the charity Prostate Cancer UK at Primary Care Masterclasses around the country and given presentations on aspects of prostate disease and sexual medicine at various other events across the UK.
